Summary

THOSE misguided individuals who believe that young people have no respect for anything of importance might care to rethink their views. Thousands of people attended to pay homage to the fallen of the two world wars, and so many other conflicts - including the continuing operations in Afghanistan. One youngster from Eggbuckland Vale Primary laid a wreath on behalf of HMS Heroes, a group of service family children. Pupils from other schools also laid wreaths. And among the watching crowds, 16-year-old Gabrielle Scoffield from Ford summed up why she was there, saying: "I came along to pay my respects. It was a good service. There was a lot of respect."
