Summary
It seems opportune, in the light of Kevin Kellway's timely letter regarding the future of Charles Church (The Herald June 16, to remind your readers that a defining feature of the restoration of the Victorian Chapel at Ford Park Cemetery is that it should be dedicated to the memory of the city's civilian war dead.
The names of each of the 1,250 or so civilians who died, many of whom rest in the cemetery, together with their ages and dates of death, will be inscribed on slate plaques to be mounted on the east wall of the restored Chapel.
