Summary
In reply to Sid Anning's rant about Alison Seabeck (July 8), although I may agree with the comments on the spending excesses of all MPs, he gives the impression we should only have locally- selected MPs who will represent the people in this city, MPs who don't toe the government line when required and who don't take advantage of their position to employ their relations or spend large amounts of money on their second homes. I may be wrong, but he seems to suggest a change from this New Labour (Tory) mob to a full-blown Tory government will sort this out.
Perhaps he thinks his pension will improve, the problems with the NHS will disappear, international speculators will force the price of oil and gas to drop, the Americans will suddenly stop using grain for biofuel, China and India will slow down their economic expansion which will lead to a fall in commodity prices - all factors beyond the control of this government.See the full content of this document
