THE Rifle Volunteer Inn at St Ann's Chapel, on the A 390 between Tavistock and Callington in the Tamar Valley has been one of the many victims of the recession and closed for business when lessees, Coast and Country Inns, were in financial difficulties.

The pub has been closed for over a year, but has just been reopened by the new proprietors Geoff and Lorraine Baker The Rifle Volunteer Inn is a deceptively large stone-built detached property with whitewashed elevations under various pitch roofs.
