BARRY SANIGAR wrote this play in 1971 to inaugurate the Stables Theatre Company, a group consisting chiefly of young offenders. He rewrote and redirected it in 1982, again to great critical and popular acclaim, and has completed the hat-trick with another new group, the Devonport Daylight Theatre Company, a joint project between Hamoaze House and the DRC Partnership.
This satirical send-up plays fast and loose with a tale familiar from Greek mythology. Topical and local references are updated, and new songs have been added by Jo Phillips and Naomi Crotty to stand alongside a sprinkling of established numbers.See the full content of this document
