The law should be changed to allow former dockyard workers suffering from an asbestos-related disease to claim compensation, says a city MP.
There has been continuing pressure on the Government to end what campaigners say is the injustice done to victims of pleural plaques, a scarring of the lungs caused by breathing in asbestos fibres, and reinstate the right to payouts, halted following a controversial ruling by the House of Lords in 2007.See the full content of this document
