A LEADING Conservative opponent of ID cards has put his weight behind a Plymouth privacy campaign. David Davis gave up his position as Shadow Home Secretary to fight a high-profile byelection over ID cards in his constituency of Haltemprice and Howden in 2008. Yesterday, he joined Conservatives Geoffrey Cox, the sitting MP for Torridge and West Devon, and Oliver Colvile, the parliamentary candidate for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport on the campaign trail. "Labour would like to introduce ID cards," said Mr Colvile. "This is all part of a very intrusive agenda about surveillance and restricting liberties.
