I FEEL both of our MPs, Oliver Colvile (Con) and Alison Seabeck (Lab), misunderstand Devonport's capacity to accommodate large ships, whether naval or otherwise.
Alison cited (Wednesday) a maximum capacity of 22,000 tonnes. Oliver has ambitions (Saturday), through blasting out the channel bed between Drake's Island and Mount Edgcumbe, of bringing in the new 65,000 tonne super carriers, in the unlikely event that either or both will ever be fully commissioned.See the full content of this document
