Summary
It's that time of year again when election fever envelopes the university campus. From today for the next week students will be campaigning on campus to get votes from their peers in order to get elected to office at their Students' Unions.
But what does that mean? The Students' Union - which is a charity in its own entity - elects its trustees every year, all of whom are students, meaning we are truly a student-led organisation. So not only will these five elected full-time students be holding our pounds3million charity in trust, but they will become the student leaders on campus, acting as the main representatives for the 32,000 University of Plymouth students. In addition, as student leaders they also become community leaders, acting in the interest of a large demographic of our city, working in partnership to try and reduce anti-social behaviour but also to champion the successes that a student population brings to this great city.See the full content of this document
