I READ in Saturday's edition of The Herald that a grouping calling itself Plymouth Unite Against Fascism is calling on people to stage a demonstration on Thursday outside the BBC's Seymour Road studios. This is in protest at the BBC's decision to have the BNP leader, Nick Griffin, on its Question Time programme.

The headline stated that campaigners are angry at the Question Time invite. May I politely ask these self-appointed guardians of civilisation what their campaign aims are? Also what is their political stance, apart from causing possible public order offences? How much police time and public money is going to be wasted? Like it or not, the BNP is a recognised political party and many of their views appeal to a large number of people.
