COMMONWEALTH Games champion bowler Natalie Melmore is struggling to curb her competitive instincts since re-cutting her tournament teeth in Australia. The University of Plymouth student made her comeback to international lawn bowls at the Australian Open, which preceded a tri-nations tournament also in Melbourne.
Both events were by invite only and featured many of the world's best lawn bowlers, including the bubbly Devonian star, who has not bowled in anger since winning a gold medal at the Delhi Games in October. Melmore, in the final year of her law and criminology degree course at Plymouth, admitted the Aussie trip has whetted her appetite for competition and she is counting the days until the outdoor lawn bowls season re-opens in May.See the full content of this document
