Summary
While enjoying listening to the late Dudley Savage playing the Compton cinema organ installed from new in the 1938 ABC/Royal cinema in Plymouth, I wondered why the iconic organ was allowed to be removed from its home.
The Compton organ at the Royal was regarded as the best of its size and type and the acoustics suited it well. The venue was famous because of Dudley's 'As Prescribed' radio programmes on the BBC for many years.See the full content of this document
