Summary
The criminal justice system is continually highlighted as flawed in this country. The case involving the footballer Glyn Hobbs reminds me yet again why, despite having a law degree, I can't train further and represent the legal system.
Despite Glyn Hobbs breaking a man's jaw, despite his previous other convictions of criminal damage, theft and assault, he only received a custodial sentence of eight months, which is to be reduced because he was tagged (and we all know that the sentence gets reduced even further). The only excuses that appear to be used is his Jekyll-and-Hyde character and minor alcoholism (neither of which are adequate defences).
