STAR Plymouth swimmer Antony James says he feels he has proved a point after qualifying in style for the World Championships.

The Plymouth Leander butterfly stroke ace booked his place on the plane to Shanghai with the Great Britain team for next month's championships. He did that by winning gold in the 100m butterfly race at the ASA National Championships in Sheffield, becoming in the process the seventhfastest swimmer at that discipline in the world. James, however, doesn't have particularly happy memories about World Championship qualification. He was left at home for the 2009 World Championships in Rome after failing to qualify for the event.
