Summary
THE final programme in this minidrama festival for Plymouth's primary schools opened with Laira Green Primary in Baghdad Zoo.
Based on fact, it's a disturbing tale culled from recent history. When Iraq was invaded, the biggest zoo in the Middle East was abandoned and animals killed for food or left to die. Local children sneaked in with any food they could find to feed the animals, but the fighting rendered their actions increasingly dangerous, until one night a military patrol caught them.
