DEVON'S out-of-hours medical service is asking people not to use it over the Christmas period - unless they 'feel they have an urgent problem that can't wait'.

Devon Doctors, which is owned by the GP practices in the county, said that last Christmas thousands of people with health problems called the urgent services when they should have been waiting for the daytime services for 'routine issues'.
