Summary
Returning home from visiting my grandad in Derriford Hospital on Sunday afternoon, turning right from Dover Road into Novorossiysk Road I saw my 11-year-old son and a group of his friends crossing from the Mainstone side towards the direction of Asda.
To my horror, they ran across the fast-moving traffic; slightly lagging behind, my son was lucky not to have been hit. I ordered my partner to stop the car and we pulled into the Mainstone turning, beeping the horn to get the attention of my son. My partner wound down the window and told my son he was in trouble and to get in the car for being so stupid - but to our absolute gut- wrenching horror he stepped into the road without looking, right in front of a car. That was the most terrifying moment of my life. The whole incident seemed to play out in slow motion.
