Summary
THERE have been many imitators, but nothing has really been able to surpass the sound of the London Mozart Players, founded by the late Harry Blech in 1949.
Effectively the UK's first chamber orchestra, the LMP is now regarded as one of the finest ensembles around, bringing together outstanding musicians from this country and abroad. Internationally renowned for its live performances and CD recordings, particularly its definitive readings of the core Classical repertoire, the LMP has played under many distinguished conductors, including Sir John Barbirolli, Sir Roger Norrington and Sir Georg Solti. Former Music Directors include Andrew Parrott, Matthias Bamert, Jane Glover and, of course, Harry Blech himself, with David Juritz as leader since 1991.See the full content of this document
