BRUCE HARRISON BUILDERS LTD 501 TOP 20 LEAGUE SIMON CUNNINGHAM has won the league sponsor's competition between the top, individual placings. All eight players produced outstanding performances, showing once again the stature of the league, with no fewer than nine maximum scores of 180 recorded. Cunningham was drawn against City Social team-mate Richard Lynch in the opening match and was pushed the full distance before winning the deciding fifth leg in 16. Malcolm Johns opened with a 15-darter against Hill Park team- mate Tony Teal, only for Teal to take the next three to progress to the last four.

Bruce Harrison (Kings Arms) and last season's winner Antony Hayman took to the oche next in one of the best encounters of the evening.
