Summary


SO EXETER is now a unitary authority, out on its own, free and away from Devon County Council, just like Plymouth and Torquay. So technically the only place that is truly Devon is the central barrier on the A38. And of course County Hall is in Exeter, which technically doesn't draw down on the county's money so that will have to move to.... move to... well, the Ivybridge Thresher's is still vacant.

Anyway, there I was watching the helicopter dragging trees out of Crownhill Fort and all I could think was... beavers. Haven't they advanced over the past 50 years? Back in my day they would have used their teeth but today, it's an EC135 aircraft with pilot and electronic winch... that's evolution. I assume they employ a pilot, as I doubt they could wrap their little paws around the joystick.
