; Bbl Are Poised to Probe Raiders Mascot Foxy's Pants Prank

Summary

PLYMOUTH Raiders have pulled off one the 'biggest signings in the club's history' with the capture of last year's BBL player of the season Jeremy Bell. The 6ft American guard will make his debut for head coach Gavin Love's Raiders at Durham on Saturday in the BBL Cup. Making way for 28-year-old Bell, who scooped the BBL's MVP award for his performances for Cheshire Jets last term, is his fellow American, Ben Smith, who has been axed by Raiders.

The shock announcement will certainly have Raiders' fans buzzing with excitement, although many will have sympathy with 23-year-old shooting guard Smith, who only joined the city outfit in August. Bell moved to Cheshire in the summer 2010 and made an instant impact, finishing as top scorer in the BBL Championship with an average of 23 points per game. His displays saw the BBL's 12 head coaches vote him MVP. Bell beat fellow American Trey Moore of Newcastle Eagles and Team GB captain Andrew Sullivan into second and third place, respectively, for the top prize.
