MIDFIELDER Anton Peterlin is set to be sidelined by a hamstring injury for Argyle's away game against Walsall tomorrow. But centre- back Reda Johnson should be in the squad for the trip to the Banks's Stadium after ankle trouble. Peterlin suffered his hamstring strain in the closing stages of Argyle's 1-1 draw with Carlisle United at Home Park last Saturday. But, as the Pilgrims had already used their three permitted substitutes, he stayed on the pitch until the final whistle. Peterlin has not trained at all this week, and manager Peter Reid does not expect him to be involved tomorrow. Reid has three options as to how to replace Peterlin alongside captain Carl Fletcher in the centre of midfield. He could move Luke Summerfield from the right-side into his preferred position. Another option would be to call-up Chris Clark, who played in the centre of midfield in Argyle's 1-0 home defeat by Notts County in the Carling Cup. Or Reid could choose on-loan Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dean Parrett. The highly-rated 18-year-old made his debut for the Pilgrims as a half-time substitute against Carlisle. Peterlin had started the first three matches of the season, after signing for Argyle in the summer as a free agent, following his release by Everton at the end of last term. The industrious American has earned praise for his performances from Reid, so his probable absence against Walsall will be a blow. Reid said: "I don't think Peterlin will make it so there will be a change in there.

I have got a few options." Fletcher was Argyle's player-of-the- year for 2009/10 and continues to be very influential, according to Reid. "I think he's one of those players that you don't realise what he does until he's not there," said the Pilgrims' boss. "He fills holes, and his stats in the last game against Carlisle, in terms of being on the ball and keeping it passing-wise, were excellent, so I think that's what he brings to the team. "He's an influential player in there."
