THE third heat of the Shore League had superb catches across eight different species and there were 20 fish in specimen class. Roy Repton, fishing for Stonehouse A, who only a couple of weeks ago had a long battle with a 400lb-plus white sturgeon in Canada's Fraser River, brought to the scales the best individual specimen, a personal best bull huss of 15-2-8 (168.40 per cent) followed by a smoothound of 12-14-8 (1616.32 per cent) by Craig Pope, of Roving Rods A. Ashley Cockram further enhanced the Stonehouse score with a bull huss of 12-13-8 (142.70 per cent) and the final specimen points were taken by Raiders' Lee Vosper with a huss of 12-12-8 (142.01 per cent). Repton also delivered the round's best mullet, a fish of 5-3- 8, and with Andy Plant producing a garfish of 1-9-8, the Stonehouse squad had the rarely achieved match score of 30 points.
