Number Seeing Gp Over Swine Flu Falls
THE latest official figures show a drop in the number of Plymouth patients contacting their doctor with suspected swine flu. The second NHS South West pandemic bulletin states that 374 people showing flu symptoms called or saw their GP from July 20 to 26, a rate of 149.5 people per 100,000.
Marines Blown Up in 'Low-Risk' Location ; Jackal Occupants Suffered Multiple Injuries, Inquest Told
TWO Plymouth-based Royal Marines died from multiple blast injuries after a home-made Taliban mine exploded in a 'low-risk' area of Afghanistan. Marine Neil Dunstan and Marine Robert McKibben, both based at Stonehouse Barracks, died on November 12 last year when their Jackal vehicle drove over a mine pressure plate in the Garmsir district of southern Helmand.

A GREENGROCERY manager who stole more than Pounds 27,000 because he was living beyond his means has been jailed at Plymouth Crown Court. Simon Cusden was manager of Stokes the Greengrocers in Tavistock, but abused his position by stealing Pounds 27,304 over a five-year period.

A COUPLE from Millbrook were today due to take centre-stage at the Plymouth Classic Boat Rally - by holding their wedding reception on board their boat. Co-Op Chief to Chair City Chamber
THE chief executive of the Plymouth and South West Co-operative Society will become the new chairman of Plymouth Chamber of Commerce later this year. Douglas Fletcher will take over from the Chamber's current chairman, Mike Leece, in December.
