Haydon pinhey was the highest placed Plymouth finisher at an exciting West of England Billiards and Snooker Bronze Waistcoat finals day at the Victoria Snooker Centre in St Budeaux. Highly rated Pinhey (pictured right) reached the semi-final stage, while another fast improving Plymouth cuester, Dan Legassick, reached the last eight of the fourth annual West of England Billiards and Snooker Foundation event.

Hill Park took advantage of leaders St Johnston's inactivity to move within three points of top spot after winning 9-2 against Ker St Social Club. Highlight of the match was a 2-0 doubles success for Simon Stevenson (100x17) and Malcolm Johns who won both 601 legs in 21 darts for a 28.61 average.
Torpoint Pull Too Strong for Dudley
Football: Torpoint AFC have appointed Stuart Dudley as the new manager of their South West Peninsula League Premier Division side. Dudley has left Premier rivals Wadebridge Town to take up the role at The Mill where he replaces Darren Potter and Gary Tiffany, who have left the club after just five months in charge.
Cricket: Cornwood have been waved through to the last eight of the Tony Pryce Devon Knockout Cup after being handed a walkover by South Devon. The game should have been played two weeks ago, but was put back as the Corns were on ECB National Knockout Cup duty.
City school children produced some fine performances, including breaking three records, in the 2009 Plymouth and West Devon Primary Schools' Athletics Championships at Brickfields. More than 2,000 city youngsters from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, representing 63 schools, took part.

Plymouth Argyle youth team chiefs are negotiating with the club's potential new owners for a pounds2million Academy to create stars of the future. Head of youth development, Gordon Bennett, confirmed that Argyle's 'board in waiting' have been made aware of the club's need for Academy status.
Plymouth Argyle head youth coach Mike Pejic wants his scouting empire to extend to the Balkans. Argyle have just announced that Pejic and his youth team are being backed by city firm LTC Group87 for the next two years.
Devils Await Semi-Final Opponents
Holders Plymouth Devils have been drawn to meet either Bournemouth Buccaneers or Weymouth Wildcats in the semi-finals of the National League Knockout Cup. The Buccaneers and Wildcats meet in their quarter-final second leg clash at Bournemouth on Thursday.
